Resolved questions
Chinese speakers avoid controversial answers

When Chinese speakers do not wish to answer controversial questions, there is a phrase that they use.

Would you please give me the characters for that phrase.

I think that the English translation is something like: It's not convenient to talk about that.

Thank you

简体字( Simplified Chinese characters ) : 很难说
    or
繁體字 ( Traditional Chinese characters ) : 很難說

If I am asked to translate this phrase , my translation will be "It's quite hard to say " or "That's very difficult to say. "( " nan " can means " hard " or " difficult ")
I've just referred to urbandictionary.com about "It's hard to say " , its meaning seems very similar to what "hen nan shuo " means in Chinese .

So if you want to express " It's not convenient to talk about that" , "hen nan shuo " might be too ambiguous .

    I am a Chinese speaker.
I think we actually dont understand what you are talking about in that situation.
