What is the difference between "trust" and "believe" ?
What is the difference between "trust" and "believe" ?
Like if I say:"I don't trust you." or "I don't believe you." Which way is more sounds like a joke, if I don't want to get too seriously.
Thank you.

The difference is one of scope.
"I don't believe you" means that I think what you are saying right now is not true.
"I don't trust you" means that I think you often say things that are not true or often do not keep your promises.
Depending on the tone you use when you say them, either could be a joke. But either one could be offensive if in the wrong tone.
