translating "could" in Spanish
When wanting to say "could" in Spanish - like "I could go to the game", or "it could have been different", what is the difference between using the preterite tense vs the imperfect tense? i.e. pude vs podia?

I could go to the game >> Podría ir al partido
Es decir, aún tienes la posibilidad de ir al partido.
It could have been different >> Podía haber sido diferente.
Es decir, podría haber sido diferente, pero ya no es posible cambiarlo porque ya ha ocurrido.

You will need to use the conditional form of poder for "could".......podri'a, podri'as, podri'a.....
