그녀는 바쁜가 봐서 못 가요. -> 그녀는 바쁜지 못가요.
I had an original test sentence corrected in this way...
English: I guess she is busy, so she can't go.
My version: 그녀는 바쁜가 봐서 못 가요. (it actually had other mistakes, which I have fixed here.)
Corrected version: 그녀는 바쁜가 본지 못 가요.
I learned that -ㄴ 지 was being used to mean "I guess..., so...".
But then I found out 바쁜가본지 can be further simplified to 바쁜지.
Simplified: 그녀는 바쁜지 못가요.
1) Does "바쁜지" still have the meaning of "I guess she's busy, so..." even though the structure "-가 보다" is no longer in the sentence? Of has the meaning simply changed to "she's busy, so..."?
2) Can that same simplification be used with action verbs?
그는 갔지... = I guess he left, so... ??
