Passando ditto Leonardo insieme con P. da Gavine da Santa Trinita, nella parrocchia delli Spini, dove era una ragunata d’huomini da bene et dove si disputava un passao di Dante, chamarono detto Leonardo, dicendogli che dichiarassi loro quel passo; et a caso a punto passò di quivi Michelangelo, et chiamato da uno di loro rispose Leonardo: ‘Michelangelo ve lo dichiarerà egli’. Di che parede a Michelangelo l’havessi detto per sbeffarlo, con ira gli rispose: ‘Dichiarando pur tu che [volesti far] facesti uno disegno di uno cavallo per gittarlo in bronzo e non lo potesti gittare et per vergogna lo lasciasti stare’. Et detto questo voltò loro le rene et andò via. Dove rimase Leonardo che per le dette parole diventò rosso. E Michelangelo, volendo mordere Leonardo gli disse ‘Et che t’era creduto da que’ caponi de’ Milanesi?

Wow, this is old Italian indeed, probably 16th or 17th century...Ok, I'll give it a try.
Leonardo and Gavino from Santa Trinita strolling straight to Parrocchia delli Spini,where a group of gentlemen had gathered and were discussing a passage from Dante, someone called the said Leonardo, demanding he should recite that passage; and by chance and a stroke of luck Michael-Angelo walked by, and Leonardo answered to the one who had spoken: "Michael-Angelo will recite that himself". But Michael-Angelo thought he had meant to mock him, and thus replied angrily: "I'll declare you made a drawing of a horse to cast it in bronze but you couldn't do it and renounced in shame." Once he'd said this he turned round and departed. Leonardo stood still and became red after hearing those words. And Michael-Angelo, wishing to tease Leonardo, said to him: "What did you expect from those Milanese chickenheads?"
