Kiyomizu-dera (清水寺?), Officially Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera is an independent Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto, a city that famous for its ancient buildings and architecture which is still preserved and well maintained until this day. The temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities) UNESCO World Heritage site.
Behind the main temple there is Jishu-jinja shrine, people always called it as God of matchmaking, and in front of the temple there are 2 stones called the " Blind stone" and "Astrologer Love stone".
The legend says that if local people can walk with their eyes closed until the blind stone, then their desires will be granted.
an unique thing about this temple is it does not use any hops to build the entire of the building. Kiyomizu itself means clear or pure water. It is taken from a waterfall located on a hill that near the temple.
