Moi, j'aime le tennis = As for me, I like tennis
J'aime le tennis = I like tennis
Moi, j'aime le tennis = As for me, I like tennis

Paul et moi sommes amis. J'aime le tennis et Paul, lui, aime le football.

The second sentence is correct, but the first one highlights the contrast between Paul and I. It puts the stress on the difference between them (making an opposition is the main goal of this statement).
