Resolved questions
what does the “hang one of those suckers on the wall” mean?

The first calendars were kind of hit or miss. Many places measured time by the new moon, others by the sun, and some used a combination of both. In the land of the Aztecs and Mayas (now Mexico), they devised huge, complicated stone tablets. These worked pretty well, but try and hang one of those suckers on the wall!

Additional Details:

These worked pretty well, but try and hang one of those suckers on the wall! There were even
tall dunce cap-like calendars made of solid gold that high priests in central
Europe got to wear, even though
you’d have to have eyes on the
top of your skull to be able to
read them. Given these
complicated ways of tracking
time, people were often a
little mixed up about exactly
what day it was.

" but try and hang one of those suckers on the wall."

The speaker is joking as 'the aztec stone tablets huge complicated' (which also means it's very heavy) So when they say 'try and hang one of the stone tablets on the wall' there are joking (due to the weight of the tablet)
