What does 'The dragon exploded' mean in this video?

The words of the video don't quite agree with the cartoon. The words, "The dragon exploded" mean that the dragon ate so much, that when he was given a sweet, its stomach exploded (burst; opened violently from the internal pressure). However, the cartoon does not show the explosion. It simply shows the dragon running away. Once the dragon ran away, it was "gone." "The dragon is gone" means that the dragon was no longer there. It went somewhere else.
