Most commonly a convenience store has a little bit of everything. Where I live in the United States this is usually confined to gas stations. They have a little bit of food if you need something on your way home and don't wish to go to a bigger store. They usually include bare essential you will need on the go. This can include food, toiletries, cell phone chargers, news papers...etc. Larger places in the U.S. have corner stores which would be called the same thing. Normally you can't do all your shopping at this one store, but it does provide a quick alternative if you just need to grab cigarettes, milk or some other small everyday item on your way home.
