I think that private lessons are the best idea. It's much better than a language course.
It is also really good to write as many essays as possible, because in this way you can enrich your vocabulary.
The very nice website is "memrise". There you can learn a lot of words in an easy and pleasurable way. Another thing are flashcards, they are also very useful when you learn new words.
