I read a book (the book/ books) before go to bed.
In this sentence, 자기 means 'to go to bed / going to bed / in the state of sleeping' etc,
    and ~전에 means 'before'
The verb of the sentence is "읽어요" and the object is "책을"
"자기전에" indicates when you read a book and we usually put anywhere in the sentence.
but we usually do not say like this : (나는) 책을 읽어요 자기전에.
You can say "나는 책을 읽어요, 자기전에." or 나는 책을 읽어요, 자기전에.", when
you forget to say some important information and you would like to add the information
then you can simply put the information at the end of the sentence.

    Here are more examples.
