Nobody would tell me who I was coming to see.

    Not much. They both mean that the situation has passed, but "would tell me" is in the conditional I tense, which changes the implied motivation of "nobody". In the first one, you're left to accept that nobody said anything. In the second one, you're left to think that there was a REASON that they didn't say anything.

    For all intents and purposes, however, they mean the same thing.
