"I talked myself out of it"

How do I say this in Turkish?

It's NOT "vazgectim" :) vazgectim means "I changed my mind"... this isn't the same thing. "I talked myself out of it" means when you want to do something, but you have to tell yourself all the reasons why it is a bad idea, until you manage to not do it.

I went looking as well! I found "...kendimi ikna ettim."(I convinced myself...) in a few places, but not really any common phrase that matches talking yourself out of something.

Interestingly, most examples were a quote from House MD: "Yalnızlığı seviyorum. En azından böyle daha iyi olduğuma kendimi ikna ettim."

Hoping for a better answer as well...
