How to tell the difference between reflexive and reciprocal verbs?

Consider these two sentences in English:
"We look at each other."

"We look at ourselves."

As far as I know, these are both translated as, "Nous nous regardons," but that has an ambiguity to it. There has been information lost. My professor said that context should clarify what's actually being said, but I can think of plenty of instances where it doesn't. How can I say those two sentences DISTINCTLY in French?
