What's the meaning of "one or another"?

The house was across the street. The women stood like tired caryatids on the porch, each one leaning against one or another of several warped and peeling columns.
What's the meaning of "tired" in the second sentence? I don't think it means the same of "tired" in "I feel tired".
What's the meaning of "one or another" in the second sentence?
Thanks!
