What does 'taken' mean?
What does 'taken' mean? I saw it below 'single' on a certain paper. I guessed it 'not single'. Is it slang?

It's definitely a casual way of saying that you are not single - you're either married, have a boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.
Think of the verb 'to take'. It basically means to reach for something and get a hold of it. If you are taken, then someone currently has got a hold of you, so you are not available to be with anyone else. If you were single, you'd be available. I hope that makes sense. :)
