Are there some differents between "glad" and "happy"?

You would usually use "happy" to describe a state you are currently in. "Glad" on the other hand, is more of a response to a certain event.
For example. "I am happy to be your friend." and "I am glad I didn't lose my wallet".
For example. "I am happy to be your friend." and "I am glad I didn't lose my wallet".
"Happy" describes a state that one is in, whereas "glad" relates more directly to things outside a person.
Example: "I am happy because I am home now",
"I am glad that I can relax now."
Example: "I am happy because I am home now",
"I am glad that I can relax now."
