Any time you want to say, "I'd never do it". It leans towards asserting your moral character. Craig, don't lie....... I'd never dream of lying.

You would say "I wouldn't dream of such a thing" when something is absurd or ridiculous.

    Example:

Someone says: "Would you spend $100,000 on a car?"
You can say: "No, I wouldn't dream of such a thing!"

Girl #1 says: "Hey, how would you like to go out with that guy over there?"
Girl #2 says (if she does not like him): "I wouldn't dream of such a thing!"
