Every time I watch a historical drama, I NEVER hear them say 죄송합니다. I want to know what the word is (how it's spelled). All I know is that it starts with ㅅ. Does anyone know what it is called and why it isn't used anymore?

I'm pretty sure that the first syllable starts with ㅅ and ends in ㅇ. I'm not sure about the other syllables, but the word ends in 합니다.
