Undecided questions
In some situations 'another' means the same as 'the other'?
I've found this sentence, which I have changed a little. 'Yesterday I was watching two dinosaurs.One was running around a palm tree, another (one) was eating a bone." Shouldn't be 'the other' instead of 'another'?

Wrong. It should be "the other".
"Another" never means "the other".
another = indefinite article (an)
the other = definite article (the)
That is a huge difference.

When you say 'another' one you emphasize that there are many dinosaurs. When you say 'the other one' you emphasize the other dinosaur as a different and unique being. :)
