Is there a Korean about Korean proverb/saying ??

Is there a Korean proverb/saying out there that says something like " you shouldn't live your life trying to impress other people all the time, or you shouldn't always worry about what people think of you because it outs to much pressure on yourself? Lol

not quite exact meaning, but somewhat similar I hope ;)
You have saved a drowning man and the man urges you to give back his baggage, lol

The closest Korean proverb I can think of is "한 귀로 듣고 한 귀로 흘려." (In one ear out the other). It's basically when someone criticize you, or attack you verbally, but you' don't give a hoot about what they say. Their words come in through one of your ears and fly out the other, as if it never even happened.
