What is the difference between "ربما" and "ممكن"?

I thought they were both interchangeable and meant "Maybe" or "Possibly" but for one of my Notebook entries 2 people corrected my entry by replacing "ممكن" with "ربما". What's the difference?

    Hello,
ممكن is a noun in Arabic, and we use it in an Arabic sentence as an adjective. "possible"
    example: هذا شيء ممكن.
For the second one: ربما is a particle as " perhaps, maybe" in English.
ربما أسافر العام القادم إلى هناك.
and another information: when we add : مِنْ + الممكن , it will be as maybe or perhaps.
من الممكن أن + الجملة ==== من الممكن أن أسافر العام القادم إلى هناك.
    السلام عليكم
