    Both are correct. But if you want to put on a librarian's glasses and be a grammatical purist, then "so do I" is better. That is because it reflects the fact that "I", which is in its nominative case, is the subject of "I also like to play chess." "Me", however is in the accusative case, and you can see that "me like to play chess too" is not a particularly grammatical sentence! But at the end of the day, native speakers say it both ways.
