Resolved questions
I wonder what the pronoun "it" means in the sentence. Please help me!

Usually, a noun phrase will be all of a piece, all the words that compose it being contiguous with the noun itself.

I predict that the pronoun "it" behind the verb "compose" indicates the phrase "a noun phrase".
Is it right?

Thanks in advance!
