"I want to freak you out."

    It means "I don't want to scare you" and "freak out" usually implies something weird/unusual, something you're usually not prepared for and you don't want other people to worry too much. Not necessarily scary, but unusual, i.e.
    I don't want to freak you out guys, but I have 3 arms.
    Don't freak out, please, but we've got a rat in our fridge.
