Okurum = simple present tense ( in general)

Okuyorum = simple continuous tense. (right now)

You should add -yor to the verb in order to construct a sentence in continuous tense:
    Oku-

    Oku-yor-um
    Oku-yor-sun
    Oku-yor
    Oku-yor-uz
    Oku-yor-sunuz
    Oku-yor-lar

A short note about -yor suffix in Turkish: With the verbs ending in a consonant, add -iyor instead of -yor.
    Gel- (Ending in a consonant)

    Gel-i-yor-um
    Gel-i-yor-sun
    Gel-i-yor
    Gel-i-yor-uz
    Gel-i-yor-sunuz
    Gel-i-yor-lar

-r is used with simple present tense:
    Oku-r-um
    Oku-r-sun
    Oku-r
    Oku-r-uz
    Oku-r-sunuz
    Oku-r-lar
