it is right say "what do you do for A living?" or better remove "a" ?

    Leave the "a" :).

    Yes, leave the "a". It doesn't quite sound right without it.

     

    What I do for living is eat.

    What I do for a living is work as a teacher.

    In this case, "a living" means "a job", so you definitely need the "a". It's not optional.
