How would I wish a penpal Happy Birthday?
I'm trying to post on my French penpal's fbook wall "Happy Birthday! I hope you enjoyed your day!"
From google,I got "Joyeux anniversaire! J'espère que vous avez apprécié votre journée!",but,I thought "vous" was formal, and, isn't really used between friends?
Can someone help me out here ^_^? Thank you.

Hi Suzy,
You are right.. "tu" would be better in this case.
"Joyeux anniversaire! J'espère que tu as passé une bonne journée"
If the friend is from Québec, you can also say "Bonne fête" instead of "Joyeux anniversaire"
