    Typically it's called a dot when there are a group of them together, example (I like you, but...)
    It's usually called a point when used in decimals, example (10.9)
    Lastly, it's called a period when it comes at the end a sentence.

    It's also called a dot when used in email addresses.

     

    'Period' is only used in America to indicate the dot at the end of a sentence. The rest of us use 'Full stop'.
