    The word 'ancient' and the word 'ruins' come together much more frequently than with the word 'remnants'.

    RUINS indicates that there is enough remaining of the original 'thing' to be worth looking at. Ancient ruins are often visited by tourists to certain areas and of course archaeologists and similar professions.

    REMNANTS to me indicates a much smaller remaining quantity of the original 'thing'. For example, the only remnants of the of the man's clothes was a small length of fabric. (Nothing worth using)

    For me, only B is correct.
