“The headmistress wants you in her study.” - - - “She’s here already. I didn’t think She ___ till tomorrow.

B. was coming
C. is coming
D. is to come

Note: I guess B is the answer. Do people sometimes say C?

    B is correct.
    C isn't really cringe-worthy, but mainly because of the ambiguity of the sounds of the words. When spoken, 'she is' is usually contracted to she's, and 'she was' would also be run together. They would therefore sound quite similar.

    You would use C for making a statement ' she is coming tomorrow'
