    There are supplies that the law firm uses. As they use those supplies, their reserves run out. "To stock" means "to fill/refill". So somebody is buying and/or refilling the supply reserves at the law firm.

    You can imagine it in another, more common sense. You're at a grocery store, in the canned goods aisle. You want to buy tomato soup, but it's all out on the shelf. An employee moves over to the area with a box of tomato soup they just got off of a delivery truck, and they put the soup on the shelf. They are stocking the shelf with tomato soup.
