In this case is the same meaning. However sottile is thin, leggero is light

Pioggia sottile e` fatta di gocce piccolissime. Pioggia leggera e` una pioggia che ha poco effetto, cioe` che fa cadere poca acqua e anche se non hai l'ombrello non ti da` molto fastidio. In inverno puoi avere delle piogge sottili lunghe (for a long time) che NON sono leggere.
