Could you give me an equivalent to these 3 expressions? Examples: 'What do they hope to achieve?' 'You might well ask.' A system of which we in Britain might well be envious This caused a few gasps, as well it might. 1 - You might well ask 2 - Might well 3 - As well it might I believe that "you might well ask" means the same as "You may well ask". Thank you in advance!

More or less... as long as you understand the difference between "may" and "might".
