Could you give me an equivalent to these 3 expressions?
Examples:
'What do they hope to achieve?' 'You might well ask.'
A system of which we in Britain might well be envious
This caused a few gasps, as well it might.
1 - You might well ask
2 - Might well
3 - As well it might
I believe that "you might well ask" means the same as "You may well ask".

More or less... as long as you understand the difference between "may" and "might".
