what is the difference between 'may' the mouth and 'may' used on next phrase for exemple 'may i go?'

These two words are spelled the same and are pronounced the same. May, the month, always has a capital M, whereas normally the m in the other may in lower case. Realmente, May = maio, e may = Poder
Por exemplo, Hoje e o dia 23 de maio = Today is the 23rd day of May.
Será que eu poderia emprestar o seu celular? - May I borrow your phone?
