    不好意思...excuse me
    對不起...I am sorry


    excuse me = 不好意思

    “不好意思” 是表示碍于情面而不肯或不便,关系比较好的人一般都用这句。
    “对不起” 是表示对人有愧,对不起比较正式吧,常用为表示歉意的客套话。

    to apologize, they have the same meaning,对不起 is a little more official. 不好意思 has some ohter meanings like excuse me.

    对不起>不好意思 in meaning.
    Of course, you can use both of them in daily life when you trouble sb. or do sth. feel shame...
    But, when you do really a very terrible thing and hurt, sorrow sb. very can only use "对不起。"
    for example:
    1. You want to ask the way, you say:不好意思,请问...
    2. You step on sb. on a bus, you can say: 不好意思/对不起
    3. You kill sb's mother, you say:我对不起你...(If you use "不好意思"here, it means you think "kill his mother" is a small thing!)

    I agree with brook, 不好意思= exuse me, 对不起=sorry
    You can say both of them in your respon. You know someone likes say 对不起,someone likes say 不好意思。Threre is no a quite different between them.I think that it is just a habit.
