What is wrong with: "Did I just really try?"?

if you say "Did I really just try that?" it means you are surprised you attempted or did something you didn't expect you would. like for me saying "Did I really just try Balut?" "I really just tried skydiving for the first time" usually means a sense of pride that you are saying I was good at this and did it only this one time.

sounds like you are questioning yourself. Get rid of the word "Just" and I don't know bout "Really". Are you trying to convince someone that you put effort?
