Why doesn't this sentence work?

I'm going through some grammar and my book says that expressions like

I'm just wondering why? Because in English it seems to make more sense in my head. But it's 1:30am so maybe that's why I don't understand. Hahah. Thank you!

Because you must be tired, and I'm sorry I asked you to come here early.
You must be tired, and I'm sorry I asked you to come here early.

"~니까" means "because", "~텐데" in second sentence contains meaning of "even though"
