    أضع is the present tense for وضعتً = to place- have placed.(to put something in a place)

    but I missed أضعتُ is the past tense for أُضيعُ to miss or lose
    for the singular absent (male) أضاع
    أضاع حقيبته
    he lost his bag
    present يضيع

    ''to put'' in the past becomes : وَضَعْتُ
    Lost stays the same.
