I'm sorry "because" or "that" ?!

We say i'm sorry because i have been rude, or i'm sorry that i have been rude ?!

    More naural to say "sorry that I was rude". You could aslo say "I am sorry because I didn't mean to sound rude".

     

    The usual way would be to say: "I'm sorry that I was rude."

    When we use because it's normally to explain something in some more depth and give a reason. We wouldn't normally use the construction: "I'm sorry because...." It is possible to use "but", such as: "I'm sorry but I had to say something."
