"the course do their daily commerce " can it mean the course of their daily life? Thanks

    Yes, your understanding is correct, although it is usually written this way:

    "In the course of their daily commerce... " or "In the course of their daily activities..."
    or "In the course of their daily rounds....etc."

     

    Daily commerce would be more specific than daily life.

    Commerce is business dealings. So, it would be similar to saying "in the course of their daily business interactions (such as shopping)...."
