Testing my understanding of pronouns... Could you check my answers? 'Doumo arigato gozaimasu'! ^-^

 

1. What is this? - Kore wa nan desu ka
2. I am not a student. I am a sailor - Watashi wa gakusei de wa arimasen. Watashi wa suifu desu
3.Who are you? - Anata wa dare desu ka
4. Which one is an apple? - Ringo wa dore desu ka
5. What is sushi? - Sushi wa nan desu ka
6. You are all nurses - Anata-gata wa kangofu desu
7. Where is this place? - Koko wa doko desu ka
8. No, that is not a cat - Iie, are wa neko de wa arimasen
9. Are you a teacher? - Anata wa sensei desu ka
10. Who is the teacher? - Sensei wa dare desu ka
11. This is a cat - Kore wa neko desu
12. Where is the mountain? Yama wa doko desu ka
13. Is that a dog or a cat? - Are wa neko ka inu desu ka
14. This is an orange - Kore wa orenji desu
15. That over there is Akira - Achira wa Akira-san desu
16. That over there is a lake - Asoko wa mizuumi desu
17. I am English - Watashi wa Igirisu-jin desu

    10. Who is the teacher? - Sensei wa dare desu ka
    This is correct, but you can also say it another way:
    Dare ga sensei desuka.
    In this way, you are asking who is the teacher (not who the teacher is).

    13. Is that a dog or a cat? - Are wa neko ka inu desu ka
    This should be:
    Are wa neko desu ka (soretomo) inu desu ka
    You can either use 'soretomo' or omit it.

    2.sailor = "hunanori " Suifu is not bad, but hunanori is more natural.
    6.nurse = "kangoshi" We call kangoshi even for women from 2003.
