    "j'ai envie de" (não *je envie) quer dizer "tenho vontade de" (por exemplo: j'ai envie d'aller à la plage, tenho vontade de ir à praia".
    "Enviar" diz-se "Envoyer". Então, "eu envio" diz-se "j'envoie".
    "Envier" é "invejar", então, "eu invejo" diz-se "j'envie".
    Como vê, "j'ai envie de" (tenho vontade de) e "j'envie" (eu invejo) não são a mesma coisa.

    "J'ai envie" ("avoir envie de quelque chose") is very similar to "je veux" ("vouloir quelque chose" no "de" here). It doesn't mean "I send" in any case.

    "J'ai envie" is a bit more personal, passionate than "Je veux".
    "J'avais envie" is closer to "I desire" than "Je veux".
