¿Сómo se dice "It would be better if I went to the sea"?

Lo que preguntas en inglés (It would be better if I went to the sea) yo lo traduciría al español como:

If I had gone to the sea, it would have been better.

    ¡Saludos!

If you say "si hubiera ido al mar, habría sido mejor" you are saying "If I had gone to the sea, it would have been better"

In the first sentence "it would be better if I went to the sea" you are implying that you are thinking about what you could do in the future (in 5 more minutes or next weekend)
In the second sentence "if I had gone to the sea, it would have been better" you are talking about something that could have happened in the past, but it did not happen and there is nothing you can do about it.

Habría sido mejor ir al mar
    Hubiera preferido ir al mar
