    The difference is that in French as in Spanish and other languages nouns have genders.
    Un is for masculine nouns and une for femenine.

    un = masculine
    une = feminine

    Examples:
    une fille (a girl)
    un garcon (a boy)

    une table (a table)
    un stylo (a pen)

    une : we use it when we talk about something feminine / un : we use it when we talk about something evocative this is the difference
