Does 算了 算了 mean nevermind or forget it?

I was watching an episode of 大耳图图 and a woman was talking to TuTu's parents when she said 算了 算了. I don't know what they were talking about because I was listening for new words but based on the context I'm guessing it is an informal way of saying "nevermind" or "forget it". Is that correct?

    Good guess!

    是的 yes

the word 算 means "calculate, assume"
thus 算了 shows past action, kinda "consider it calculated"
which means "never mind, forget it"
