Resolved questions
The difference between になる and になってくる (and other variations) has always been confusing

When do you use each of the following? What is the difference?

になる
になった
になってくる
になってきた

Thanks!!
Dustin

(Sorry for my English in advance)

    For example,
日本語が上手に話せるようになる = become to be able to speak Japanese well
("not good at speaking Japanese" but "become" or "will become" to be good at it.)
になった = got to be able to speak Japanese well
    (already good at speaking Japanese)
になってくる = be getting to be able to speak Japanese well
(on the way to "become to be good at speaking Japanese" or "will become")
になってきた = got to be able to / has become to speak Japanese well
(not fluently but now "be getting better at" speaking Japanese)
