    买不起是用在实际能看到的东西上,付不起用在哪些看不到的东西,房租,水电之类的

     

    付不起:当交款的时候你发现你这个东西太贵了,你可以说付不起:I can't afford it.
    买不起:在上面的情景可以代替付不起, 这个是一般用法。比如:比如你和你的朋友交谈的时候,他说新出的那款手机好漂亮,强烈推荐你买一个。你说:多少钱?他说:XXX元。然后你发现这个很贵你可以说,我买不起。

    “付不起”的object是钱、账单,与pay差不多。我付不起账单。I can't (afford to) pay my bills.
    “买不起”的object是具体的东西,与buy差不多。我买不起这件衬衫。I can't (afford to) buy this shirt.

    英语里同样也不会说我买不起钱或者买不起账单。
    In English you probably will not say I can't buy money, or I can't buy my bills.

    我付不起房租。√

    也就是说
    *“买不起”和“房子”“手机”“电脑”等实实在在物品搭配得多。
    *“付不起”和“房租”“学费”等比较抽象的、和钱有关的词搭配得多。
