"un" ama de casa?

I just read on a grammar book that which says it's :
"un ama de casa". but why?
But "ama" should be "una" isn't it?

    Hola Jasmine, "ama" como sabes es palabra femenina y empieza con "a" tónica (acento de voz) en estos casos sólo para el articulo determinado en lugar de "la ama" es obligado decir "el ama" (y el águila, el hacha, el agua, etc.); para el artículo indeterminado se aceptan las dos formas un ama de casa o una ama de casa. Pero cuidado el resto de cosas que digas del ama debe estar en femenino siempre.
    El ama de casa está contenta. Un águila blanca.

    Puedes utilizar las dos expresiones, una ama de casa o un ama de casa.
    Both are right, and you can use them but "una ama de casa" is uncommon.
    The question is that when the word after "la" begins with "a" sound then you have to change the genre. So instead of "la ama" or "una ama" you say "el ama" and "un ama".
    It's beause of a phonetic question.
